Good Omens
I heard the cranes flying overhead for the first time this morning. And, by golly, when I looked out the kitchen window, there was a robin hopping around the back yard.

Cranes are lucky in Japan. Hope they are lucky in the Midwest!
(PS-speaking of Eastern cultures, my verification is lapso)
They always feel fortunate to me. It's funny, almost my first thought on hearing them was "I wish I could write a haiku"
last winter the robins never left this winter, they haven't been seen anywhere!!
Little robin red breast sat upon a rail.
Niddle noddle when his head, wiggle waggle went his tail.
Yay! We heard birds when we left the house this morning. Could it be? Spring really coming???
It's about time!
I've not seen any cranes, nor robins, here in Madison. But I have seen lots of little birds fluttering around. Hope the robins don't freeze their feathers off this weekend when the cold returns!
