From unfinished to long finished

While I was at Annie's house, I was tickled to see this. It's a baby blanket I made for my nephew Sam. He's in high school now, so it was a treat to run across it after all these years.

Oh, I love that blanket. But I cringed when you saw it on the porch, all dusty and dirty (the porch, that is). Well, it is still used and loved by kitties, kids, and me :-) Love ya!

Aw. It's very pretty! Seems to have held up well over the years, too.

Such a pretty blanket! Don't you love it when you know all the time and effort you put into making something special for someone is used and appreciated?

The blanket still looks great after all these years. What yarn did you use? I made a baby blanket for my DD using Filitura di Crosa 501 superwash wool, and I managed to "semifelt" it over a couple of years.

Well, since a couple of you asked, the yarn is "Windrush", a brand of acrylic that seems to have disappeared from the marketplace. Reasonably soft for an acrylic.

Oh, and I wish to state on the record that despite her demurrals, my sister's house is actually cleaner than my own.

What a gorgeous pattern and colors. And that it's still in such good shape is a testament to the boy and the knitter!

That's brilliant - obviously much loved!

It's so nice to see knitting made with love still loved after all those years.
