Retro

We've just returned from a weekend trip to Springfield, Illinois with some dear friends from California. The focus of the trip was on visiting Lincoln sites, but the motel turned out to be a rather delightful surprise from a different era. It's the "youngest" building with an historical designation in Springfield, restored to it's 1960's glory.

Of course, it's a little scary that I remember the period so clearly.

  1. I don't. We always had the markdown version of that stuff, so it didn't last that long.

Did you take any Lincolny photos? We went once when I was LITTLE, but all I remember is REALLY stinky rainbarrels. Curious to know if it's all touristy now!

  2. It's rather scary that the 1960's could be considered historically significant. Maybe I should hang one of those "historical preservation" plaques around my neck???

  3. I love the 60's motel but I get freaked out by my step daughters wearing the 80's style clothes that I wore in my teenage years!

  4. Well, that's definitely different from the usual motel decor!
