MADISON SCARF Original Knitting Pattern

Here's another very easy to knit openwork/lace scarf in two versions. You can make it long and straight to wrap and drape around the outside of your coat. Or you can choose the shorter fitted version with a center ribbing section that fits nicely under your collar. Unlike some shaped scarves, this one is worked in one piece with no grafting involved.

Complete line by line directions are given, and I have also included a chart for the basic four row pattern stitch. Either way you choose to work, this pattern is simple enough that you will probably have it memorized by the time you have worked a few inches.

This is a great "first lace" project, and since it is worked in worsted weight is moves along fast.
