CHECKMATE SOCKS pattern

Slipped stitch ribbing gives your ankles and feet a cozy hug. The color patterning is done with slipped stitches, too, so you never have to carry more than one yarn at a time.
The basic pattern is written with a grafted (wedge) toe. Alternate instructions are given for a rounded toe that does not require grafting.

These socks are worked from the top down on double pointed needles using sock/fingering weight yarn in three colors.

Finished Measurements:
Top circumference: 9 inches un-stretched
Ankle circumference: 8-9 inches stretched
Length from top of cuff to bottom of heel:
11 inches

Fitting note: The cuff of the sock has extra stitches to accomodate the width of the calf. Shortening the leg may result in a fit that is too loose at the top.

Pattern available in instant download pdf format (you will need Acrobate Reader). Cost $3.00
